Device specifications for Alcohol Monitoring with GPS - CAM Patrol

Sound too good to be true? Not anymore!

The HAS Solution includes a fully equipped ankle bracelet with an embedded continuous alcohol monitoring sensor.

This innovative, unique solution is the first application on the market that encompasses both active GPS and continuous alcohol monitoring.

The ankle bracelet works together with Bluetooth enabled handsets, providing imperative information on the offenders’ location, history and sensor status. The advanced functionality of the software enables Field Officers to track offenders on the handset with a “Manager View,” including the Offender’s historical bread crumb. With this near real-time data, the Field Officers are aware of the offenders’ whereabouts at all timesIn addition, the reporting feature illustrates all automatic arrivals and departures from Exclusion and Inclusion Zones for each offender displaying date, time and location of events.  When offenders enter Exclusion Zones an Alert is sent via email or to the Officer’s handset. This data transmits every minute when tracking in the Exclusion Zone to closely monitor the offender.

GPS Monitoring Solutions is able to set up home detention rules - Inclusion and/ or Exclusion zones remotely for each offender.

The User Interface allows us to obtain a Historical Bread crumb Trail for each offender, displaying where the offender went, including Date, Time, Location and Status of Sensors.

We can easily create, edit and update Inclusion and Exclusion Zones for each offender. The HAS View Monitoring Software allows Control Zones to be defined by type (Inclusion or Exclusion) and apply specific parameters to each Zone. Personnel can use the Control Wizard to define Control Zones by Day of Week and Time of Day.

Personnel can define how they want to receive Alerts and Notifications for any Control Zone Violations. In addition, Alerts and Notifications are automatically generated if any Trip Levels are exceeded based on the original baseline of the Sensors on the Bracelet.

Agency Personnel can zoom in on specific offender locations to monitor if any exclusion Zones were violated.

Bracelet detects traces of Ethanol based on alcohol consumption.

Handset tracks offenders and reports status to Officers and Field Workers in near real-time.

During the initial installation of the ankle bracelet, the technology also establishes the offender’s baseline levels for various sensor items:

Body Mass Sensor Ethanol Sensor
Used to detect bracelet tamper. This function is calibrated per individual and can be adjusted with the user interface. Uses Infra Red technology for molecular detection along with proprietary software. Also adjustable from the user interface.
Body Temperature Sensor IR (Infra Red) Sensor
Dual Purpose:
  1. Monitor body temperature
  2. Warranty reasons and over temperature
Detection for bracelet removal and lockout
Skin Resistance/ Water Sensors Battery Monitor
Voltage is monitored 24/7 with low battery alerts sent to the phone

Following baseline configurations, the application requests the status of the 6 sensors on the Bracelet.

One of the main features of the Bracelet is the built in alcohol sensor, which detects traces of Ethanol in a person based on their alcohol consumption. Agency personnel can re-configure the sensors remotely from ActSoft’s user interface. This will save the agency time and money. Furthermore, this solution also has the ability to provide a voice alert to the offender when the battery needs to be recharged.

The ActSoft Software also has the ability to store events and alerts in a history file. Agency personnel will be alerted when an offender steps out of range or violates a condition set by personnel (e.g. a pedophile cannot go within 500 ft. of a school or mall).

The voice alert is sent in the form of a WAV file from the server directly to the handset device. In addition, the bracelet contains electronics for tamper detection and system controls for collecting and transmitting data through a modem. Normally, there are multiple offenders within the agency’s House Arrest Program all with different specifications and conditions. With the ActSoft solution, personnel can customize and configure program parameters that meet the specific terms and conditions of the offender’s House Arrest mandate. This cutting edge solution will provide Agency personnel with all the necessary information needed to keep offenders abiding by the law.

Imagine being notified every time an offender violates a court order.

Application Overview

The HAS Program includes a feature rich, User Friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) to assist Agency personnel with the overall management of their Electronic Monitoring Program. The HAS View Software Application is designed for Community Corrections Officers.

The User Interface uses NAVTEQ Mapping content, which is an industry leading source of mapping information. Agency Personnel can obtain Street Level Mapping or Satellite Images based on their specific requirements. There are a number of reports available for personnel to review, including information for each offender or a group of offenders.

HAS View is the Monitoring Software Application that Agency personnel use to monitor, track and manage offenders. The software is flexible and allows Agency Personnel to define specific time periods for when GPS information is obtained and transmitted across the wireless network. These parameters are configurable on an individual offender basis. So if you have a higher risk offender, you can establish more active tracking parameters versus someone who is less risky.

Officers receive Active GPS location data for each offender wearing the Ankle Bracelet and the wireless handset. Personnel can track the Date, Time and Location information, including the current status of each Sensor on the Ankle Bracelet.
